No need for you to be embarrassed! Your work is wonderful and I do love all of your quilts! Go on and think your family will bury you in that quilt, NOT! One of your family will keep it always because you cherished it so! Still, I know what you mean…smile!

Absolutely beautiful work! Your quilts are really gorgeous! Do you sell any of them? I love your colors and sense of design. Anyone would love to have one of these. How long does it take you to make a quilt, starting from the design through to completion?
Thank you so much, you are very kind. I loved making each and every one of them – and I could spend forever just looking at all the different fabric patterns! Unfortunately, I did have to sell them off (cheap, only for the cost of materials) because I had bills to pay. But they were very hard to let go because they meant so much to me (the only time I could really enjoy parting with one was to give as a gift to family and friends). As a result, I haven’t the passion to make another, at least until I have someone special to give it to – like the grandkids I’m hoping to someday have. It usually takes 2-3 months for me to make one – I machine sew everything except the binding (I just don’t have the patience to hand sew the whole thing, usually because I can’t wait to start on the next one!).
Beautiful quilts. Each one a work of art, because you created it from your inner self. I admire all types of artists and you are definitely an artist. I think we have a lot in common, because reading some of your posts, it was like I could have written that myself. Depression is my constant companion as well. Not a fun friend. So I do creative things to keep her from totally controlling my life.
I am a quilter also so I appreciate all the hard work and beauty in your quilts….I simply love the absolutely stunning effect that each one gives.. May I ask you where you found that pattern for the first one. I would love to get my little quilting hands on it! The wrapped presents bear is different…I have never seen one like that before….don’t stop quilting, God has really given you a special gift.
Thank you! That first quilt is my absolute most favorite – I just love it’s ‘scrappy’ look – and I’d be glad to give you the info on it. The pattern is called Sister’s Star and is in a book called ‘Setting Solutions’ by Sharyn Craig. In fact that quilt is on the cover – which is why I bought it! It can be found on page 39, but it doesn’t have a step-by-step guide, just a picture of a block along with the entire quilt. You have to figure out the size of the pieces and block on your own using grid paper (each block in the quilt is exactly the same). I made many of my quilts from pictures rather than patterns, so it was no problem for me.
Fabulous designs, nicely done. I am just learning how to quilt so am looking for designs and colour combinations. Really appreciate all the work that went into making your quilts.
